How does the process for getting a custom paint design work?
The process is probably simpler than you think. Some customers come to us with an idea for artwork, a special color, or specific graphic, while others ask us to learn a little about their personality and create a unique design based on their individual style. For over 36 years, we’ve worked closely with our customers to bring their ideas and visions to life. Through a series of phone calls, emails, or visits, the paint colors and designs are completed. Then we can email back and forth with the customer until the final design is approved.

Can I add custom painted graphics and designs to my factory paint?
Absolutely, on cars, trucks, everything! We do this all the time. Many of our customers request that we add a fuel-tank mural, custom flames, or painted graphics to their stock factory paint, and it is often much more cost-effective.

Why add custom paint to your bike or vehicle?
Why wouldn’t you? Custom paint is the ultimate accessory! You probably didn’t originally buy your ride to just blend into the crowd. Part of owning a motorcycle or cool vehicle is its reflection of your personality and style. There’s nothing worse than seeing another one on the road that looks just like yours. And nothing, not even chrome accessories, will make as big an impact as custom paint. It will truly set your ride apart from the crowd. We understand this, and look forward to helping you create a one-of-a-kind visual statement.

Can I still have my vehicle painted if I don’t live in southern Wisconsin or northern Illinois?
CPV is an award-winning paint facility with customers around the globe. We receive and ship bikes and parts every week, and entire vehicle projects are often shipped to us from around North America. Contact us today, and we’ll share some tricks on how to properly package your parts and keep shipping costs to a minimum.

How much does it cost?
Usually less than you think. The cost of any custom paint work depends on the style and size of bike or vehicle. We’ve painted everything from pedal cars to custom choppers, from hot rods to helicopters, and from jet skis to 40’ race boats. It’s mostly about time & materials. Larger parts require more time. Detailed murals typically take more time than our custom “RealFIRE” flames. Special features like our custom “SpyLIGHT” kits require some additional fabrication. We can work with you to develop the best possible paint design to fit your budget.

Is custom paint as durable as my factory paint?
Yes. Few painters have the experience that we have at CPV. We also use the best quality materials, along with our proprietary preparation techniques and paint processes. Our process is so advanced, that we are one of the only shops approved to repair and color match bike parts from the leading manufacturers.

Can I visit the CPV facility?
Yes…. We’re proud to have visitors. This is NOT your typical, dirty, dusty paint shop. Our large facility and one-of-a-kind showroom (in Racine, WI) is visible from I-94 and extremely easy to access. It features dozens of examples of our work, detailed murals, specialty “RealFIRE” flame examples, innovative finishing techniques, and much more. You’ll likely get to meet some of our valued customers, as parts and vehicles are coming through our doors each day.
