Steve Wright
I got my start in the paint
shop with my dad when I was
just barely strong enough to
hold a roll of 18 inch masking
paper; about 4 years old. In
those days a night with my dad
in the garage was monetarily
worth a dollar, but the experience
has proved to be priceless.
I have learned every aspect
of the painting business from
the ground up through my parents.
Watching and doing are the two
main components of becoming
a custom painter. If you are
intrigued enough in watching
another’s artistry in
the making as I was with my
dad, then you develop similar
skills. Although I do not have
any formal education in graphic
design or paint, I have had
my talents tested by real customers
over and over again.
My favorite part of being a
custom painter is execution
of design. In many cases my
dad will do the major design,
my mom will do color coordination,
and the final job lies in my
hands. It has been a good system
for us. My dad is the best designer,
artist, painter, and teacher
I know of and my mom knows how
to put colors together. Together
we make a good team.
No matter how great a paint
job I ever create, my greatest
work is my family. My wife Dana
and I have four children. Christian,
6, Stevie, 4, Morgan, 3, and
Jaden, 1. And they all love
the paint shop.
