Jay Wright
I started doing airbrushed
artwork on conversion
vans in 1975. I love doing
it and I have always tried
to improve my skills with
each new job. My formal
education is through the
University of Wisconsin
Parkside and the Milwaukee
Institute of Art and Design.
I studied fine art and
illustration over a period
of eight years from 1985
to 1995. Anyone interested
in pursuing career in
airbrush should learn
the fundamentals of art
first. There are way too
many airbrushers out there
that try to short cut
education and jump right
into professional painting
for the money. It really
shows in their work when
they lack basic understanding
of composition, color
theory and anatomy.
As a company we have
painted over 20,000 vehicles
since 1975. I am blessed
to have my wife and son
be a vital part of the
business. Donna, my wife
was a painter for many
years and was very good
at it. She still sprays
from time to time. My
son, Steve has learned
the skills of painting
and has proven himself
as an excellent painter
as well.
These days I stick to
airbrushing artwork or
designing new schemes.
We will take customers
ideas and picture references
and turn them into a composition
for just their hood or
tailgate or the whole
vehicle. We can show them
what the job will look
like before we actually
paint it with the aid
of computer technology.
We’ve had this technique
employed since 1995 and
have continually improved
on it.
If you are a former customer,
I would like to take this
opportunity to thank you
for your business. We
appreciate your patronage.
We always try to give
our customers the best
value and quality that
is possible. Some people
say we are more expensive
than our competition,
but I have never thought
so. I believe that the
work we do is priced according
to quality and value.
